After Family Time
It is normal for both children and adults to experience different emotions following Family Time.
Your child may be happy and excited, or they may feel confused, upset, tired or unsettled. These feelings do not necessarily mean that something has gone wrong.
After your session:
- Allow your child to end the session positively and calmly.
- Follow the agreed arrangements for saying goodbye.
- Avoid extending goodbyes if this is making your child more upset.
- Speak to a member of staff if you have any concerns about the session.ยง
- Raise adult concerns away from your child wherever possible.
- Reflect on what went well and anything you could do differently next time.
Where appropriate, feedback from Family Time may be shared with the professionals involved in supporting your child.
